M4 (ang. M4 Carbine) – karabinek szturmowy produkcji amerykańskiej to broń wprowadzona na uzbrojenie armii USA i innych krajów w połowie lat 90, będąca wersją rozwojową karabinów z rodziny M16. Zbudowana została z powodu zapotrzebowania armii USA na broń o mniejszych wymiarach przeznaczoną dla oddziałów specjalnych i jako broń do samoobrony.

Zasadnicze zmiany w stosunku do poprzednich wersji to skrócenie lufy oraz zastąpienie kolby stałej kolbą składaną. Karabinek produkowany jest w kilku wersjach różniących się rodzajem mechanizmu spustowego, łoża i komory zamkowej. Skrócenie lufy zmniejszyło zasięg skuteczny. Dodano szynę na górnej części broni, dzięki czemu można zdejmować rękojeść do przenoszenia broni i montować w jej miejscu różnego rodzaju celowniki optyczne lub kolimatorowe.

Replika została wykonana ze stali, metalu oraz wysokiej jakości polimeru. Metalowa jest prowadnica kolby, zespół szyn RIS, przyrządy celownicze, lufa zewnętrzna, muszka oraz magazynek. Z polimeru wykonany został korpus, chwyt pistoletowy, jak również regulowana kolba. Dodatkowego realizmu dodaje, zastosowany przez producenta, system Open Bolt. Repliki z tym rozwiązaniem nie posiadają mosiężnej wstawki w komorze zamka. Dzięki zastosowaniu takiego systemu podczas strzelania cofa się cały zamek, identycznie jak w wersji palnej.

The gun is one of the best options to get into the low budget GGBR world. Many pieces are metal, the only metallic part I miss is the body, but I was gladly surprised about the current plastic body, it really stands the wear and tear of a GBB. Very sturdy plastic here :). Noises and feeling of the gun are quite good, good recoil and no wobble at all for the barrel and internals... everything fits quite well. The rail handguard is pretty good indeed, heavy and well finished. If you remove handguard, and magazine the gun itself is pretty light, but with magazine, handguard an eotech551 and a grip (I use angled magpul AFG) resulting weight is quite close to the real one. I TOTALLY RECOMEND TO GET ELEMENT NPAS KIT FOR WA AND ELEMENT BOLT CATCH! The npas kit works amazingly well with this replica (and installations is quite fast). The bolt catch is another history... you'll have to tool it a bit to fit this gun, the hole for the pin in the bolt catch is not big enough to let the pin in, so you have to dremmel it out a bit, and the top part that catches the bolt is too high, so you have to trim it down to work properly (if not, the bolt stops before locking). But you totally need this two pieces if you want this gun to be operative. I didn't tested FPS yet, but the NPAS kit seems pretty good doing its job. What I noticed is that ironsights can't be properly aligned, the front sight is heavily misaligned with the gun, so you can't entirely rely on them even with the most extreme adjustment. Anyway, I use reddot and it seems to align perfectly with the top rail and the barrel, so no problem there.
