The M3 was an American .45-caliber
submachine gun adopted for U.S. Army service on 12 December 1942, as the United
States Submachine Gun, Cal.
.45, M3. The M3 was designed as a more cost-effective alternative to the
Thompson, optimized for mass production. The M3 was commonly referred to as the "Grease
Gun" or simply "the Greaser", owing to its visual similarity to
the mechanic's tool.
Intended as a replacement for the .45-caliber
Thompson series of submachine guns, the M3 and its improved successor, the M3A1
began to replace the Thompson in first-line service in late 1944 and early
1945. The M3
was an automatic, air-cooled blowback-operated weapon that fired from an open
bolt.
The M3 featured a spring-loaded extractor which was
housed inside the bolt head, while the ejector was located in the trigger
group. Like
the British STEN, time
and expense was saved by cold-swaging the M3's barrel.
M3A1 EBB submachine gun
replica
A replica
of the legendary American M3 Grease Gun submachine gun manufactured by the ARES
company. This airsoft gun is a real treat for enthusiasts of military equipment
from World War II. The body of the “the Greaser” is made of a
single plate of steel sheet. The one-piece outer barrel and other small
parts are made of aluminum. The M3A1 has realistic designations, weld
imitations and various types of other shortcomings associated with the
production of the original.
The airsoft gun, just like the
real steel, shoots only in automatic mode. However, with a bit of practice and
a well selected battery, we can also shoot in single fire. The gun is
fed from a steel low-cap type magazine, which holds 65 BBs.
The ARES company used an innovative
power supply system. The battery case is located in the magazine
clip. Specially designed connectors on the gearbox and in the magazine provide
a reliable and stable power supply. The manufacturer recommends using
9.6 V, 1500 mAh mini type batteries.
The set also includes a
foldable, wire stock, just as in the real steel, is equipped with a special
tool to facilitate the loading of cartridges (in the ASG version this tool is
only a dummy).
The model has an electric
system that imitates the movement of the lock (EBB), which is valued by real
enthusiasts. Thanks to this system, when we fire the airsoft gun, the bolt operates
like in a real gun.
The set
includes:
- the airsoft gun - a magazine - a stock

Velocity [FPS]
It is the spped of bb, while its leaving the innerbarrel of replica. This speed is measured in FPS (Feet Per Second).
1 FPS = 0,3 m/s
1 J = 99 m/s
1 J = 326,7 FPS

Propultion
Replicas have spring, electric or gas propultion. Spring models need to
reload after each shot (pull back the lock) to enter the ball into the
chamber. At the same time it pulls spring back, to be able to
give a shot. Electric replicas depends on the battery,
whereby the engine drives the whole gearbox, and a gas models, push
the BB by gas, which loads in magazine (in these replicas ther is
not spring).

Gearbox version
Indications v2, v3, v6 does not mean the level of advance, but only
shape of gearbox skeleton which was used and selected by the
manufacturer
depending on the capabilities of the body of the replica. For example,
a
models of the M4/M16 family, MP5, have a v2 gearbox, while the AK
family have gearbox v3.

Hop-Up
Hop-Uup system is used for overclocking bb during the shot (putting
it in rotation), through which, it extends its flight
path. Acting laws of physics make that bb lift up,
while the gravitational force take it down. Appropriate
adjustment of Hop-Up, will compensate for these two factors, which
result in long and straight flight for longer distance and be greater focus shot (to improve accuracy).

Blow Back
Blow back is a simulation system of the cocking lever - it imitates the
work of it as the equivalent sharp. This system raises the realism and
adds a lot more experience during shooting.
