The Barrett Model 99 "Big Shot" is a single-shot sniper rifle first
introduced in 1999 by the Barrett Firearms Company (USA). The company is better
known worldwide for its earlier .50 caliber rifles, the semi-automatic M82A1
and bolt-action M95. Like the M95, the rifle uses a bullpup configuration
meaning the ammunition is loaded behind the pistol grip. However, it is not fed
from a magazine. It is instead a single-shot rifle, meaning that one round is
loaded directly into the ejection port and is pushed into the chamber by the
bolt.
SW-01 sniper rifle replica
The first replica of the anti-materiel rifle SW-01.
This model is made from steel and metal, only the pistol grip is made of ABS. The body of
the airsoft gun is made from bent sheet metal (this is an almost 730mm single piece of sheet metal!) The multi-positional
folding bipod is also made from steel. The outer barrel with the muzzle
brake is made from metal. A 590mm inner barrel is mounted inside the
airsoft gun. The magazine that is used in SW-01
holds 20 rounds, which have to be each time chambered by pulling the handle of
a rotating bolt (just as most sniper rifles). A 310mm long RIS rail is mounted on
the top of the body, which enables mounting additional accessories.
The manufacturer assures that
the internal mechanism is fully
compatible with the APS-2 system. The hop-up adjustment is located inside
the magazine well.
